Long Description :
Engineer, Operating Cost Engineering
Basic Function :
Check, coordinate, control, and analyze the overall operating cost at assigned area within UG mines division, in order to make sure that the activities are in line with accounting procedures, departmental and company policies, budget and contract obligations.
Job Responsibility :
1. Identify, track and compare actual operating cost (daily materials cost, weekly and contractor cost) with the
operating cost budgets at assigned area in order to ensure accuracy of data.
2. Compile and develop comprehensive daily, weekly, and monthly cost report for the underground mine at assigned
area related to operating activities, displays total operating hours and costs, equipment productivities and others statistics related to fleets performance index and highlight any anomalies and inform on the status of operating cost performance for accurate budget and
forecasting purpose.
3. Assist the underground operating cost Chief Engineer with the annual budget and quarterly cost, consumable materials, equipment costs, and rebuild cost estimate and check the
unit cost trend for all BG operating scopes and update the changes accordingly in order to ensure all operating activities achieve department's targets and objectives.
4. Communicate, liaise, and coordinate with other relevant
sections (i.e. BG Engineering, BG scheduling, BG construction, BG Operation group's, DOZ Engineering, Maintenance, Electrical, scheduling, KPI, Finance and Contract Groups) to correctly incorporate all activities within the budget and forecasts related to mine development,
production, maintenance, underground fleet issues, and all operating cost issues, also includes all monthly closing process (journal entries, etc) to ensure that all activities can run smoothly within the budget and comply with dept's time frame.
5. Track and monitor material consumption usage related to any individual activities including drifting and excavation, production, ground support, material handling and all demands in regards to underground operating scope/activities
and generate a cost template to track and control any material expanses and breaking down into element or stock codes level as requirements to ensure all activities monitored and documented so that the operating activities can achieve dept goals.
6. Tracking of divisional actual fleets delivery update based on UG maintenance report and coordinate with maintenance planner to make sure the equipment assignment is correct, also create and maintain a master plan of UG
maintenance job codes and the assignment based on requirements so that all maintenance activities align with the dept objectives.
The key challenges in this position include:
° Ability to collect valid and reliable data for the underground operating cost control, including actual cost, budget and forecast as well as any of equipment rebuild
projections. The incumbent shall ensure accuracy since the position is required to handle large operating budgets.
° Ability to provide effective explanations to underground divisions about the underground operating cost result and
its relations to company accounting principles and policies.
° Ability to Understand the various types and natures of businesses of other departments to determine the proper cost type and other accounting treatments.
Requirements
The background, education, and work experience needed to succeed in this job are:
Minimum Education & Experience
A bachelor's degree in mining engineering or accounting with 2 years of experience or equivalent experiences.
